Here are our top picks to whet your winter appetite:
- Edinburgh’s authentic Christmas German Market, set beneath the spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, brings together everything from hand-blown baubles to colourful wooden toys. Make sure to sample the market’s delicious food and Gluhwein – mulled wine served in ceramic mugs.

- Wrap up warm and glide around Edinburgh's Ice Rink or take a spin on the city’s big wheel to enjoy panoramic vistas right across Scotland’s Capital.
- Get involved in the Bungee Snowdome or the bubblepods for kids young and old, be sure to visit Santa from Saturday 3 December onwards to meet his friends, and take a ride on the Santa express
- Join hundreds of jogging Santas, as they sprint their way around Princes Street Gardens all in aid of charity. Quite an odd sight but an enjoyable – and very worthy – one!
