What’s the best Christmas gift you've ever received?

A few years ago my husband bought me a limited edition print of 'High Heels' by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. I've been a huge fan of hers since I visited an exhibition at the Mori Art Centre in Tokyo and I know I'll treasure it forever. I also remember getting a fimo badge making kit when I was little and I think that comes a very close second!

And the worst?

My little brother once gave me a £2 book token. Not even enough to buy a book with, but it did make me laugh. He also once gave me a CD of TV soap theme tunes which was apparently rejected by my mum then passed on to me, it had everything from the theme from Prisoner Cell Block H to Eastenders on it. He is the king of unintentionally hilarious presents.

For those struggling for inspiration this Christmas, what gift would you recommend for her?

It's got to be a beautiful one of a kind charm bracelet full of vintage treasures with a story to tell. My favourite is a gorgeous floral one with a tiny vintage locket hiding pictures of a past owner and their sweetheart - so romantic.

And for him?

A super cool Harris Tweed Satchel with leather straps, the perfect size for a laptop plus a few extras. It's handmade in Scotland for the extra bonus of shopping local.

What makes Edinburgh sparkle at Christmas?

This will be my first year living in Edinburgh over the festive period, but I've always made a special trip through to go to the winter markets in Princes Street Gardens and see the lights - it's guaranteed to make me feel all fuzzy and festive inside.
