Brewdog Edinburgh Lulu The Stand Edinburgh

Vibrant Nightlife

Edinburgh's vibrant nightlife includes fine dining, theatre, a choice of bars from classic to style and a club scene to keep you up to the early hours...

Lulu

If its description as being 'Georgian elegance meets 21st century opulence, with more than a hint of decadence' doesn't intrigue you, we don't know what will. Sound-responsive disco lighting under the dancefloor, Swarovski crystals embedded in the walls, Lulu is Edinburgh's most lavish late night destination, tucked beneath Tigerlily.

Stand Comedy Club

Built into the basement of a Georgian tenement, the Stand is a little cosy but offers up a superb atmosphere. Open every night of the week with a varied programme of contemporary stand-up, sketches and touring shows, this is the perfect place to go to lift your Christmas spirit.

Edinburgh's Nightife

These were just a few of the exciting Edinburgh venues offering great winter nights over 2011/2012. Check back in September for the top tips for Edinburgh Sparkles 2012/2013.

Whether you want to glam it up and paint the town red, simply enjoy a cosy evening with friends, or venture out with the family, for lively nightlife, Edinburgh fits the bill.

Work out those vocal chords in the early evening by visiting one of Edinburgh’s theatres – after-all, Christmas time just isn’t the same if you don’t go panto. Cinderella will be performed at the Kings Theatre, whilst the Lyceum will be bringing out their inner Beauty & The Beast.

If that’s too sedate for the hedonists amongst you, then the city-centre is full of trendy style clubs like Lulu and Opal Lounge, where the beautiful people go to see and be seen. Nightbirds who enjoy something a little more urbane should head long to the jazz-centric Jam House – although be warned, things get rowdier as the night wears on and people loosen up! Other great night clubs include Voodoo Rooms and Cabaret Voltaire.

For those wanting to try some authentic, Scottish-brewed, craft beer then Brew Dog in the Grassmarket will fit the bill, or for good old-fashioned Scottish hospitality and live music check out the Ghillie Dhu, you’ll be ceilidh-ing like the best of them come sunrise!
